SMILES TAKE TO THE ROAD WITH CONVOY OF HAPPINESS
A group of local children got off to a great start when they left for a big day out which had been made possible with help from two local companies. The children were set to enjoy a special Convoy of Happiness which would take them to Canon Hall Farm in Barnsley, a trip which NOV Mono and Brother UK helped to fund.
The two companies had been sponsors of the recent Pride of Tameside Business Awards, for which the Convoy of Happiness was the nominated charity.
The charity helps children who suffer from long-term or life-threatening illnesses. It used money raised by the Awards to hold a special day out, which started when the children gathered at Chiquito’s restaurant in Ashton Moss to board a coach for the trip to Yorkshire.
“It’s a real pleasure to see the children excited and looking forward to their day out,” said Paul Naylon, Group Managing Director at NOV Mono. “Organisations such as the Convoy of Happiness give businesses such as ourselves and Brother an opportunity to put something back into the local community and we’re delighted to be part of today’s adventure.”
Phil Jones, UK Country Head/Deputy Managing Director for Brother UK, joined Paul to see the children off on their journey.
